The Visual Tracking Magnifier (VTM) has helped many individuals overcome reading difficulties, such as visual dyslexics who experience pattern glare and/or fixation problems. "Pattern glare" confuses many visual dyslexics, who see whole blocks of text merge and swim above the page. This makes it extremely difficult to read. The VTM counteracts this issue by modifying the way one's eyes approach the print. It is a high-powered magnifying glass, which is placed on the page and is easily moved along the line of text. The VTM device has a central viewing strip about 7mm wide with two semi-circular, transparent, patterned areas above and below the strip that remove any distortion from the surrounding text. The device is the result of many years research and was recently awarded the "Millenium Product Status" by the Design Council.
